Climate Change

Urgency of Climate Change

Climate Change is the defining issue of our time, and we are at a critical juncture. From shifting weather patterns that threaten food production, to rising sea levels that increase the risk of catastrophic flooding, the impacts of climate change and global warming are global in scope and unprecedented in scale. Without drastic action today, adapting to these impacts in the future will be more difficult and more costly.

Sustainable Development Goal 13 on climate action aims to address the needs of developing countries to both adapt to climate change impacts and invest in development pathways that lead to net-zero emissions by 2050. The scientific community is urging to keep global mean temperature increase to 1.5° C. Meeting this urgent and ambitious target will require collective action, along with strong political will, technology and increased investment.
