Sustainable Management of Land and Water Resources Project selected as the best national project of the water, soil and environment technologies exhibition.
The national water, soil and environment technologies festival and exhibition was held from 13-16 June in Tehran. This exhibition was held by the water, drought, erosion and environment technologies and science section of the Presidential Science and Technologies Deputy, with the support of Ministry of Science, Research and Technologies, Ministry of Agricultural Jihad, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Roads and Urbanization, Department of Environment, Tehran municipality and other relevant sectors.
Many of the UNDP projects such as MENARID, Sustainable Management of Land and Water Resources, Conservation of Biodiversity in Zagros area, Conservation of Iranian Wetlands Project and Caspian Hyrcanian Forests Project presented their awareness-raising and technical products such as books, brochures, posters etc. and shared them with environmental and natural resources experts and enthusiasts.
These project booths were visited by the head of FRWO, Presidential Deputy of Science and Technologies, Deputy Minister of Energy, UNESCO Regional Representative, Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP, Director General of Khuzestan Water and Energy and University professors and students.
At the end of this exhibition, the Sustainable Management of Land and Water Resources Project was selected as the best national project and received the trophy from the referees committee of this exhibition.
Applying participatory approaches in engagement of people, using a holistic and integrated approach and organizational cohesion were among the criteria contributing to success of this project at a national level.
