Iran facing water shortage of epic proportions

In an exclusive interview with the UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Gary Lewis and Dr. Ali Nazaridoost UNDP Programme Officer on the Environment, Press TV sheds light on the serious water challenges Iran is facing.

Highlighting that, like many other parts of the Middle East, Iran will face a hotter and drier future, Mr. Lewis stressed water scarcity as the most important human security threat facing Iran in the coming decades.

He then emphasized that there are solutions for overcoming this environmental challenge, and praised the current Government for its efforts to resolve this issue.
