UNDP Iran holds fourth technical workshop on inclusive growth
The fourth of ten inclusive growth technical workshops was held on 29th October at Simorgh Hotel in Tehran.
Its theme was to complete the previous three workshops findings on employment based growth and it met the objective by consolidating all the indicators and information collected on four pillars of social, economic, natural and governance development – based on labour market indicators and undertaken by four working groups (on macro, meso, District and community level programming).
In line with UNDP’s mandate in the Islamic Republic of Iran of Inclusive Growth and Poverty Reduction, a series of workshops have been organized by the Inclusive Growth and Development Cluster to derive useful, feasible, and applicable strategies, solutions and programmes for inclusive growth planning in Iran.
The participants represent Government agencies who are partners with UNDP, including: the Presidencies Strategic Planning and Control department, the Ministry of Interior, the Department of Environment, the Ministry of Cooperative Labour and Social Welfare, the Forest, Rangeland and Watershed Organization, and the Agriculture Bank of Iran. The attendees – like previous workshops – were divided into groups.
Speakers included Dr. Moharam Aghazadeh and Ali Farzin, Head of UNDP Inclusive Growth and Development Cluster.
The outcome of the one day workshop was a set of solutions produced by each work group. The next workshop will take place on 20th November.
