UNDP and Government Partners Hold Inclusive Growth Workshop
UNDP and the Labour and Social Security Institute (LSSI) jointly hold a workshop aimed at increasing the capacity of national planners.
One of UNDP’s priorities is to support rapid inclusive growth and development in the Islamic Republic of Iran. In line with this, UNDP recently co-organized a workshop with the Labour and Social Security Institute (LSSI) aimed at increasing the capacity of the nation’s planners to deliver results in the following areas – inclusive growth, decentralized planning and employment generation.
The meeting included participants from a number of government organizations such as the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, the Labour and Social Security Institute, Vice-Presidency for Strategic Planning and Supervision, Provincial governments and worker and employer unions.
Among the key speakers were Dr. Gholam-ali Farjadi, prominent economist speaking on planning frameworks, Dr. Parviz Ejlali, renowned development planner speaking on planning decentralization, and renowned Iranian economist Dr. Khiabani, addressing formal computable planning models.
Two working groups evaluated the topics at hand and concluded the event by providing a summary of their discussions.
The workshop also contributed to producing a localized, inclusive growth-based, national development model, which will help in coordination and integration of planning frameworks.
