Environmentally Sustainable Development

  • This project is about the phase-out of hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs). HCFCs are ozone depleting compounds, the use of which is regulated by the Montreal Protocol on Ozone Depleting Substances.

  • This project is the 9th and the last in a series of similar institutional strengthening projects that have been implemented to enable Iran to comply with the measures set by the Montreal Protocol.


    The MENARID project strengthens institutions by contributing to the removal of constraints to integrated natural resources management (INRM). The Project is implemented through partnership between the Iranian Ministry of Jihad Agriculture (Forest, Range and Watershed Organization), Ministry of Interior’s Provincial Governorates and UNDP.

  • Policy Reforms and Market Transformation of the Energy Efficient Buildings Sector of the I.R. Iran

    The objective of this project is to support transformation of the energy efficiency of heating systems in buildings in Iran thereby reducing national Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions as well as heating bills for residents.
