Summary

Iran's Human Development Index (HDI) value for 2012 is 0.742 - in the high human development category - positioning the country at 76 out of 187 countries and territories. Between 1980 and 2012, Iran (Islamic Republic of)'s HDI value increased from 0.443 to 0.742, an increase of 67 per cent or average annual increase of about 1.6 per cent.
